AMWA – Bespoke Microwave Solutions for Your Production

Petrie’s AMWA (Air MicroWave Assisted) systems combine hot air, steam and microwave technologies to give unique processing capabilities to your production line. By combining hot air (surface) heating and microwave (internal) heating, problems such as cracking and irregular moisture profiles can be overcome.

The AMWA can also produce unique products that cannot be produced using any other methods.

Usually in a continuous form, but also available in a batch arrangement, AMWA systems are designed around your process and form a seamless part of your production.

Available in a variety of sizes and configurations, the AMWA system can be sized to your exacting requirements. Our AMWA systems have the ability to use either ‘domestic’ 2450MHz or ‘industrial’ 896MHz microwave.

In some circumstances it is also desirable to incorporate a 4th heating media – Infrared. This is often applied towards the end of the process, typically to achieve a highly localised degree of colour development.

All Petrie AMWA systems are CE marked and exceed worldwide standards for Microwave safety. The AMWA system can be designed / modified for use with any power supply and in unusual conditions (high altitude etc).
