Petrie to launch two new products for the Chinese market
Petrie Technologies Ltd will broaden their product portfolio with the launch of two new machines at food industry trade shows in China. These products will compliment the existing line of microwave and radio frequency ovens currently offered.

The first of the new machines (above left) is a batch microwave oven with vacuum, abbreviated as the 'MVAC'. The special heating properties supplied by the combination of technologies used in this machine give it many potential applications in material drying processes. The vacuum lowers the boiling point of water in the material, meaning that it can be dried much quicker than using traditional methods. This may also have huge benefits in industries such as pharmaceuticals where the processing time can be significantly reduced. The launch of the product in China will provide an opportunity for targeting the Chinese medicine industry, where products are conventionally dried over a period of several hours.
The other new machine (above right) to be launched is a modular version of our AMWA system. This is a hot air and microwave assisted continuous oven that can be integrated as part of a production line. The redesigned modular structure allows any length of line to be built using a series of standard sections of the oven. This means that customised lengths are now available without the cost of developing a fully bespoke system. The oven has many applications including unique ready-meal production, snack products, and defrosting.
Both machines feature a highly sophisticated, but user friendly, control system which gives them an additional advantage over all similar ovens available on the Chinese market. Plans to develop enhanced versions of these two machines, incorporating advanced and upgraded microwave components, are also being formulated.
